M401 is an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant with a typical particle size of 20-100 nanomenter (0.02-0.1 micrometer). It is Light blue clear and transparent liquid and does not precipitate upon long-term storage. The M402 adjuvant has a poorly crystalline boherite structure when examined by X-ray diffraction. M402 has a very high protein adsorption capacity ( each milligram of M402 adsorbs more than 6 milligrams of bovine serum albumin). The point of zero charge is typically at pH9.0-9.5. M402 adsorbs proteins with isoelectric points <7.0. It is especially applicable to inactivated viral vaccines and recombinant protein vaccine.

M 401 is supplied at 10 mg/ml.
